Position Title : Plumbing Helper
Position Level : GSS

- MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
- Maintain the flow and drainage of water, air, and other gases by assembling, installing, and repairing pipes, fittings, and plumbing fixtures.
- Maintain and provide for the safe condition and operation of all plumbing systems in college facilities.
- Install, maintain and repair pipes and fixtures associated with water distribution in residential and other structures.
- Fix domestic appliances; inspect plumbing systems for compliance with local regulations.
- GENERAL ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install pipes and fixtures, such as sinks and toilets, for water, gas, steam, or other liquids
- Assemble fittings and valves for installation.
- Analyze problem and identify appropriate tools and materials for repair.
- Writes report documenting the problem and summary of actions taken.
- Performs inspections of plumbing systems to identify and replace worn parts
- Carry out any other task that may be assigned from time to time
- SPECIFIC ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installing, maintaining and repairing pipe including joins, valves, drains and fixtures in all types of structures
- inspection for the first time
- Keeping and maintaining records of time spent on a job and materials purchased for the work
- Responding to plumbing emergencies, determining the issue and making a repair
- Performing regular maintenance of plumbing systems to prevent emergencies
- KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (KSA) REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Nil
- Experience: Experience will be an added advantage for short-listing purpose.
- Knowledge, skills and abilities requirements
- Skilled in carrying out routine works efficiently and effectively and can use appropriate tools.
- Knowledge of rules and regulations pertaining to the area of work.
- Good communication skills in written as well as spoken at least in Dzongkha and English.
- Ability to organize information and maintain up-to-date information for administrative and management purposes.
- Ability to be courteous and able to handle matters on short notice.
- High level of knowledge in the area of responsibilities.
- Good interpersonal skills to garner support from relevant officials.
- Strong Communication and Customer service skills.
