Building Smarter Cities
Shaping Sustainable Futures
The Smart City Elective track at Gyalpozhing College of Information Technology is more than a series of classes; it is a transformative journey designed to turn students into innovators and problem-solvers for Bhutan’s urban future. Spanning one or two semesters depending on program design, the track follows the tagline “Innovate. Integrate. Transform.” Students begin by exploring cutting-edge technologies and frameworks, then progress to applying these tools to real-world urban challenges, culminating in actionable projects aligned with Bhutan’s Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) initiative.
Through this journey, students gain both technical expertise and strategic insight, ensuring they can design, implement, and manage technology-driven solutions that promote sustainability, efficiency, and mindful urban growth.
