From Idea to IPO
Your Tech Legacy Begins Here
The Technopreneurship elective track at Gyalpozhing College of Information Technology is more than a series of classes; it is a transformative journey designed to turn students into founders. Spanning from the second semester of the second year through to the first semester of the fourth year, the program follows the tagline “Create. Connect. Conquer.” Students begin with the Create phase (Tech Discovery module), where they learn to identify genuine problems in local and global markets, validate ideas using the Business Innovation Framework, and develop a Business Model Canvas and pitch deck. This stage ensures that their concepts are not only creative but also commercially viable.
In the Connect phase (Tech Makerspace module), students transition from theory to execution by building Minimum Viable Products (MVPs), applying agile frameworks, and testing prototypes in real-world contexts. Emphasis is placed on market validation and strategic pivots based on customer feedback. The journey culminates in the Conquer phase (Tech Venture and Acceleration module), where projects evolve into legally recognized companies. Students gain hands-on experience with IP rights, tax laws, equity structuring, financial strategy, and fundraising, ultimately showcasing their investor-ready startups at Demo Day to venture capitalists and industry leaders, prepared to scale their businesses in Bhutan and beyond.
