Learning, Adapting & Building Resilience with Bhutan Red Cross Society

calendar_monthSeptember 10, 2026

The Bhutan Red Cross Society conducted a two-day Y-Adapt training programme for 32 student  Red Cross volunteers at GCIT, providing an engaging platform to learn about climate change, community resilience, and youth-led action. Through interactive games and activities, students explored how climate change and greenhouse emissions affect communities while learning practical ways to understand hazards, prepare for risks, communicate effectively, and work together during challenging situations.

The programme encouraged students to connect climate-related challenges with their own community, helping strengthen important skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, communication, adaptability, and preparedness. By participating in the training, the student Red Cross volunteers gained a better understanding of how young people can take meaningful action and contribute to building a safer, greener, and more resilient GCIT community.
