We are delighted to celebrate the successful completion of the second batch of GCIT SPARK International Students Programme!  The enriching experience this year brought together 18 students and 2 staff from Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP), Singapore fostering meaningful SG & Bhutan exchange, collaboration, and global learning.

𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐈𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐬 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞

Deep Sessions on AI & Sustainability with Gross National Happiness (GNH) brought together tradition and innovation in a thoughtful way. Students didn’t just learn concepts they reflected, asked questions, and played our exciting GCIT CIRCO Game to explore how Technology progress can be balanced with well-being and values.

𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐬: 𝐆𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞

Visits to the Royal Monetary Authority (RMA) and Tarayana Foundation gave students a closer look at how Bhutan works behind the scenes from financial systems to grassroots community initiatives. More than just information, these visits offered real stories, perspectives, and conversations that helped students connect theory with reality.

𝐎𝐮𝐭𝐝𝐨𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬: 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐲 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠

From the National Centre for Organic Agriculture to the National Biodiversity Centre Bhutan and the scenic Dochula Pass, students stepped outside the classroom and into nature. These moments allowed them to slow down, observe, and truly appreciate Bhutan’s deep connection with the environment.

𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐅𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐭 𝐇𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐡𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐧

Wearing the national attire, exploring the city, trying out local games, and spending time with Bhutanese students  made the experience personal and memorable. A special highlight was the GCIT x NYP Cultural Night, where students from both institutions came together to share performances, laughter, and cultural expressions. These shared moments built genuine friendships and a sense of connection that goes beyond cultural differences.
