AI-IOT Aqua System

The AI and IoT‑based Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) project at GCIT, Kabjisa, Thimphu, is designed to modernize crawfish farming by digitizing water quality monitoring and automating system management. Its primary aim is to develop a smart aquaculture solution that ensures optimal water conditions—such as temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, and ammonia levels—through real‑time IoT sensor tracking, AI‑driven predictive analytics, and cloud‑based data integration. By replacing manual, error‑prone monitoring methods, the system reduces labor, improves efficiency, and enhances crawfish survival rates. Ultimately, the project seeks to enable sustainable, eco‑friendly aquaculture practices in Bhutan, serving as a proof of concept for future smart farming initiatives that leverage AI and IoT technologies.
