GCIT Students Take on the CTF Challenge
calendar_monthOctober 19, 2026
Nine teams consisting of 36 students from our cybersecurity programmes competed in the Capture the Flag (CTF), Challenge organized by GovTech Agency. Over two days, the teams from GCIT, Jigme Namgyel Engineering College (JNEC), and the College of Science and Technology (CST), tackled a series of cybersecurity challenges designed to test their technical skills, problem-solving, and ability to think like both attackers and defenders.
A big congratulations to Team Snowden, Team Zero Days, and Team Muse for securing the top three positions among GCIT teams!
The CTF gave our students a valuable opportunity to apply what they have learned in the classroom to real-world scenarios. Beyond the technical side, it encouraged teamwork, critical thinking, and perseverance under pressure, skills that are essential for building a strong cybersecurity workforce for the nation.
Congratulations to all the winners, and a heartfelt thank you to all our participants for your hard work, dedication, and team spirit in helping GCIT secure second place overall among the participating colleges!
