We are proud to celebrate the successful launch of the Association of Bhutanese Industries (ABI) Information Management System (ABIIMS), developed by first-year students from the part-time Bachelor of Information and Communications Technology (BICT) programme during their fourth quarter.
Developed as part of the BICT First-Year ICT Community Project, ABIIMS is a strong example of the Industry Competency Model (ICM) curriculum in action, demonstrating what is possible when classroom learning, industry-relevant competencies, innovation, and real-world application come together.

• Architecture: Three-Tier Modular Monolith
• Backend: Go (Golang)
• Frontend: HTML5, Tailwind CSS & JavaScript
• Database: PostgreSQL
• APIs & Integration: REST APIs, Gmail API & OAuth 2.0
• Deployment and Hosting: Docker, Docker Compose & Render Cloud Platform
• Tools: GitLab & Visual Studio Code
Through the project, students gained practical experience in software architecture, full-stack development, database management, API integration, authentication, deployment, cloud technologies, version control, teamwork, and problem-solving.
More importantly, projects like ABIIMS allow our students to build a credible portfolio of real-world projects, demonstrating not only what they have learned, but what they can actually design, develop, deploy, and deliver.
We sincerely commend the student team for their dedication, technical expertise, and valuable contribution to ABI’s digital transformation.

Through industry-based capstone projects, our students gain hands-on experience, tackle real-world challenges, and turn their knowledge into practical solutions.
