GCIT hosted Mr. Eugene Chen and Ms. Siling Gan from March 9 to March 20, collaborating with the faculties of SIDD and Technopreneurship on a comprehensive curriculum review and audit. Their engagement brought valuable external perspectives, providing an in-depth evaluation of the current curricula and identifying strategic areas for enhancement to better align with global industry standards.
As founders, educators, and industry-experienced professionals from Singapore, they contributed insights that go beyond academic frameworks bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world application. This is an initiative for GCIT in strengthening our academic offerings and ensuring that graduates are equipped with future-ready skills.
A key highlight of their visit was the capacity-building sessions conducted for GCIT staff. Mr. Eugene led sessions on visual communication, design hack strategies, and Gen AI, enabling participants to explore innovative approaches and practical tools that can be embedded into teaching and learning practices. Staff and students alike benefited from hands-on exposure, gaining new perspectives on creativity, problem-solving, and digital innovation.
Ms. Silingโs sessions focused on cultivating a start-up mindset, capital formation and authentic storytelling skills that are increasingly essential in todayโs dynamic and entrepreneurial landscape. Her engagement encouraged participants to think critically about fund raising, personal leadership, and purpose-driven innovation.
Beyond faculty development, both experts actively engaged with students, offering guidance on startup ventures and investment readiness. These interactions provided valuable guidance and insights to both students and aspiring entrepreneurs, helping them further develop and refine their startup ideas while strengthening an entrepreneurial culture within GCIT.
This collaboration not only enhances curriculum relevance but also contributes to building a more innovative, industry-aligned, and future-focused learning ecosystem at GCIT.
