GCIT is the cornerstone transformation project for Bhutan’s ICT. With the visionary direction of our GCIT President, the inaugural college-level hackathon event for 2022 has been conceived and is named GCIT Hack! 2022.
In partnership with GTech, Student Affairs Department is honored to be able to execute this vision for GCIT.
Here are some key highlights of the Hackathon Event which will be held on 12 Nov 2022.

Stage1
10-28 October 2022
G-Tech Competition
- Open to all GCIT students.
Year 3 & 4 are strongly encouraged to participate. - 6 members per team.
- No limits to the number of participating teams.
- 6 winning teams will be selected for GCIT HACK! 2022
- Industry-like Problem Statements will be provided by GCIT ACAD Team:
- Manufacturing / Agricultural
- Telecommunication
- Hospitality
- Coaching and Mentoring will be provided.
- A student can only be a member of one team.
- Final judging on 29 October 2022.
Stage 2
12 November 2022
48 Hours Hack!
- 3 Participating Industry Sponsors.
- Hack! Problem Statements by Industry.
- 6 winning teams from GTech Competition will compete to become the Champion of GCIT Hack! 2022.
- 2 Rounds of Competition
- Round 1 – Each industry vertical will have one winning team.
- Round 2 – A Champion will be crowned.
- Prizes will be awarded to each industry vertical’s winning team.
- GCIT Hack! 2022 Champion will takeaway a trophy each.
- Certificates will be awarded to the winning teams.
